On the morning of May 14, a delegation led by Professor Andrew Busch, Dean of the School of Engineering and Built Environment at Griffith University, Australia, Ms. Jennifer Zhang, Greater China Director of the International Office, and Mr. Evan Li, Greater China Marketing Manager of the International Office, visited our college. The visit focused on a special seminar for the optimization of the 3+1 training program for the Civil Engineering major (Sino-foreign Cooperative Education Program). Zhang Yingying, Vice Dean of the college, Qiao Yaning, Director of the International Exchange Center, and relevant teaching management staff attended the meeting, which was chaired by Zhang Yingying.
At the seminar, both parties comprehensively reviewed the phased achievements of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program. Based on the disciplinary characteristics of the program and cutting-edge needs of industry development, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges and consultations on core topics including the revision of the talent training program, curriculum system construction, and teaching operation management. Adhering to the principle of complementary advantages, joint construction and win-win cooperation, and taking into account the dual goals of consolidating theoretical foundation and improving international application competence, the two sides further removed bottlenecks in study stage connection, optimized curriculum structure and credit allocation, and promoted the in-depth integration of the Chinese side's advantages in basic theoretical teaching with the Australian side's characteristics in integrated curriculum design and practical education. The cooperation aims to build an integrated curriculum teaching and quality control system featuring coordinated institutional arrangement, synchronized teaching process and closed-loop management.
This seminar further clarified the optimization path for the quality improvement of the Sino-foreign cooperative education program, laying a solid foundation for the revision, improvement and implementation of the new version of the talent training program. In the next step, both parties will refine and implement the consensus reached at this seminar, steadily advance the polishing and improvement of the training program, continuously standardize the operation mechanism of cooperative education, improve the teaching quality assurance system, strive to build a characteristic brand of Sino-foreign cooperative education, and effectively boost the high-quality and connotative development of the college's international education cause.
